Biography

Canvas Solaris, an American progressive metal band from Statesboro, Georgia, was formed in 1999 by Hunter Ginn, Nathan Sapp, and Jimmy McCall. Initially featuring vocalist Brad Jeffcoat, the band released two untitled demos before transitioning to an instrumental format with the EP Spatial/Design (2003). Their first full-length album, Sublimation, was released in 2004, followed by Penumbra Diffuse (2006) on Sensory Records. Lineup changes led to the inclusion of Chris Rushing, Donnie Smith, and Gael Pirlot for The Atomized Dream (2008). After touring with bands such as Dysrhythmia and Behold… The Arctopus, Canvas Solaris released Irradiance in 2010. The band disbanded in 2011 and reunited to release Chromosphere in 2021.
