Candice Marie Giannarelli, known professionally as Candice Alley, was born on June 23, 1982, in Melbourne, Australia. She is an Australian singer-songwriter of Italian descent. At the age of sixteen, Alley wrote her debut single "Falling", which caught the attention of Universal Music's chairman, Peter Bond, leading to her signing with the label at eighteen. Her first studio album Colorblind was released on September 23, 2003, and debuted at number 64 on the ARIA Album Chart. The lead single "Falling" peaked at number 5 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and was nominated for an award at the 2003 ARIA Awards for "Breakthrough Artist â Single." In 2004, Alley parted ways with Universal Records due to creative differences. She then signed with International Quarterback and released her EP Before You Go in 2007. The title track became a top 20 hit, peaking at number 16. Alley's husband, Grant Hackett, contributed songwriting credits to the album. In 2015 and 2016, Alley had a recurring guest role on Australian television series Neighbours as Cecilia Saint.
