Biography
Cali P, born Pierre Nanon in 1985 in Guadeloupe, is a Swiss reggae and dancehall singer. Born to a Guadeloupean father and a Swiss mother, Nanon moved to Switzerland as a child. He began playing drums at age three and writing lyrics at 14. Cali P began his career in 2000 with the Gideon Soldiers Soundsystem and performed with bands including Soul Fire and The Scrucialists until 2006. He released the debut album Lyrical Faya in 2008, followed by the double mixtape Listen 2 This (2009) with Walshy Fire and DJ Vincz Lee. In 2010, Cali P provided the soundtrack for the film Like a Lion. Although Nanon moved to Jamaica in 2009, he produced the album Unstoppable (2011) in Switzerland, featuring Stress and Phenomden. His subsequent albums include Healing Of The Nation (2015), I Thoughts (2017), and Vizion (2022).
