Bubaseta, born Gianni Canisso on October 6, 1986, in Switzerland, is a Chilean rapper raised in Quilpué, Valparaiso, known for his distinct flow and unconventional voice that stirred discussions in the Chilean rap scene. Starting his career with groups like Federación Alkatraz and Ninja Sekta, he gained recognition as a member of Ninja Sekta, where their 2004 album Super Ninjas boosted his visibility across Chile. In 2007, Bubaseta left Ninja Sekta to form King Kong Click alongside Brizynfony and Subwoofer, releasing La ley del simio in 2008, which was well-received in the local hip-hop community. Even though he made his official debut with the album Sexy Madafaka in 2008, his solo career took off with his 2009 album El juego sucio, featuring tracks like âTu mundoâ and collaborations with Aerstame and Stailok from Movimiento Original. In 2010, he released Aviones de Papel, a project featuring 26 tracks with numerous Chilean MCs, further cementing his reputation. After finding international success with King Kong Click, particularly in Ecuador and Colombia, he focused on a new solo album, ultimately titled El mundo de las maravillas, which was released in 2015. Considered one of the leading exponents of modern-day Chilean rap, Bubaseta released a string of popular hip-hop LPs in the following years, including Flow Fantasy (2017), Babybumblebee (2019), Serafines (2021), and Magia (2022), recorded in collaboration with rapper Aerstame.
