Biography

Bruce Soord (born 26 September 1972 in Arnstein, Bavaria) was a British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentist and producer best known as the founder and frontman of progressive rock band The Pineapple Thief. He began his recording career with the 1999 debut Abducting the Unicorn, followed by a steady output of studio albums including 137 (2001), Variations on a Dream (2003), and 10 Stories Down (2005). After the 2013 collaboration Wisdom of Crowds with Jonas Renkse, Bruce Soord released solo records such as Bruce Soord (2015) and All This Will Be Yours (2019). His 2023 release Luminescence and the subsequent album Ghosts in the Park (2026) continue to showcase his melodic craftsmanship and have been noted by critics for their lyrical depth. Throughout his career, Bruce Soord toured, remained signed to labels, and contributed to numerous progressive rock festivals.
