Biography
Bratmobile, an American punk band from Olympia, Washington, was formed in 1991 by Allison Wolfe and Molly Neuman. The duo met while attending the University of Oregon and were influenced by various musical styles, including punk and hip hop. Their first performance as Bratmobile took place on February 14, 1991, at Olympia's North Shore Surf Club. The band released their debut album Pottymouth in 1993, followed by the EP The Real Janelle in 1994, both under Kill Rock Stars. Bratmobile gained significant attention as one of the first-generation "riot grrrl" bands. Bratmobile disbanded in May 1994 during a performance at the Thread Waxing Space in New York City amidst internal pressures. After reuniting in 1999 for a show in Oakland, the band reactivated and released two more albums: Ladies, Women And Girls (2000) and Girls Get Busy (2002).
