Biography

The Muffs were an American pop punk band formed in Southern California in 1991 by Kim Shattuck. The group released their first singles "New Love" and "Guilty" in 1991, followed by "I Need You" in 1992. These early releases led to a signing with Warner Bros. Records. Their self-titled debut album The Muffs was released in 1993, establishing them as a prominent pop punk act. The band's second album, Blonder And Blonder, followed in 1995 and included the hit single "Sad Tomorrow". After a hiatus beginning in 1999, The Muffs reunited in 2012 and released their sixth album, Whoop Dee Doo, in 2014. Shattuck passed away on October 2, 2019, following a battle with ALS. Shortly after her death, the band released their final album, No Holiday.
