Bobby Lee Trammell, born on January 31, 1934, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, was an American rockabilly singer and politician. Raised on a cotton farm, Trammell's musical journey began at a young age, influenced by his parents who played instruments. He gained regional notoriety as a rockabilly musician and met influential figures like Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. His first notable single was "Shirley Lee" (1958), which became a classic of the genre and was later covered by Ricky Nelson. Trammell recorded extensively for various small labels between 1960 and 1968, including hits like "You Mostest Girl" (1958) and "Arkansas Twist" (1962). He continued performing into the 1980s but retired from touring after a fall. Trammell passed away on February 20, 2008, at the age of 74.
