Biography
Albert Hachey, known professionally as Bobby Hachey, was born on January 2, 1932, in Atholville, New Brunswick, Canada. He was a singer, musician, and television host who started playing guitar, mandolin, and violin at a young age and formed a western group with his brothers by 14. In the early 1950s, he joined Kid Baker's orchestra and recorded with Hal Willis as part of The Hillbilly Ramblers. Hachey began appearing on Willie Lamothe's radio show "Willie Lamothe et ses Cavaliers des Plaines" and collaborated extensively with Lamothe. In the 1970s, he started releasing solo albums, including Waitin' for a Break (1975) and Mon sourire..... (1978). He received two Félix Awards for Best Country Album of the Year in 1979 and 2000. Hachey continued performing until the early 2000s and passed away on October 18, 2006, in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
