Blind Passengers, a German rock and synthpop band from Berlin-East, was formed in 1987 by Reiner Schirner and Nik Page. They debuted with the song "Don't Turn Around" on the compilation Mega Maxi-Mix (1990). Following Germany's reunification, they gained traction on youth radio station 4 U, releasing their first EP, Small-Town Night (1992), and their debut album, The Glamour of Darkness (1993). The band achieved a breakthrough with "Walking to Heaven", which reached Number 1 on the listener charts of Fritz radio. They released Destroyka (1996) and performed at major festivals. Their album Bastard (1999) marked their transition to alternative metal and charted in Germany. They toured extensively, including performances with Kid Rock. Bassist Christoph Zimmermann died in a plane crash in Mexico. Blind Passengers disbanded in 2005 following the release of the compilation Timemachine (2005).
