Biography

Bjarne Rostvold, a Danish drummer and percussionist, was born on August 18, 1934, in Gentofte. He began his career at age 19 playing with Ib Glindemann before joining Jørn Grauengaard. In 1961, he released Jazz Journey with his own trio featuring Bent Axen and Erik Moseholm, which later expanded to a quartet with Allan Botschinsky. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Rostvold collaborated extensively with notable figures such as Stan Kenton, Clark Terry, Ben Webster, and Svend Asmussen. He was also a member of the Danish Radio Jazz Group from 1965 to 1978 and Finn Savery's trio in the 1970s. His discography includes albums like Triple Action (1961), Tricotism (1962), and Switch (1963). Rostvold passed away on July 12, 1989.
