Adam Wilson Blount, known as Big Daddy Wilson, was born on August 19, 1960, in Edenton, North Carolina. He worked on cotton and tobacco plantations during his youth and sang in a local church choir. After joining the United States Army in 1979, Wilson discovered blues music at a concert while stationed in Germany, inspiring him to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter.
Wilson's first collab album, Get on Your Knees and Pray, was released in 2004 with Crossroad Records. He signed with Ruf Records in 2009, releasing Love Is The Key, which marked his international breakthrough. Subsequent albums include Thumb a Ride (2011), Time (2015), Neckbone Stew (2017), and Deep in My Soul (2019). Wilson has performed at prestigious festivals such as the Paris Jazz Festival and The Blues on Broadbeach Festival, showcasing his rich, warm baritone voice across Europe, Asia, Australia, and beyond.
