Benzion Hakohen Friedman, known professionally as Benny Friedman and born on 3 December 1984 in St.â¯Paul, Minnesota, is an American Hasidic Jewish singer. After early vocal training and touring with family concerts, his breakthrough came with the 2009 release of the album Taamu, produced by Avi Newmark. He followed with Yesh Tikvah â Dawn of Moshiach in 2012, featuring the title track "Yesh Tikvah", which was later covered by major Orthodox singers. He continued to expand his discography with Kol Haneshama Sheli (2014), Fill The World With Light (2016), Kulanu Nelech (2019), and a series of a capella releases, Whispers of the Heart (2020â2023). Notable collaborations include guest vocals on the 2011 album Nagila V'Nismicha and participation in the 2011 HASC 24 event with Avraham Fried. His work earned him the Kol Chai Music Song of the Year award for Yama (2022), and he remains an active performer, touring globally and promoting Jewish unity through his 2024 tour Am Yisrael Chai.
