Avraham Abutbul, born ××ר×× ××××××× on January 2, 1961, in Kiryat Ata, Israel, was a singer and actor. Raised in an Mizrahi Jewish family from Egypt and Algeria, he moved to Jerusalem at 17 and attended the yeshiva Ohr Somayach before leaving Orthodox Judaism. Abutbul began his music career in 1995 with his debut album. His music often reflected his religious beliefs, and he collaborated with Shuli Rand and the band Izabo, including musicians Tamir Muskat and Ronit Shahar. Abutbul also had a notable acting career, appearing in films such as Every Time We Say Goodbye (1986), Front Window (1990), and Ushpizin (2004). He returned to Orthodox Judaism in 1998. In 2012, Abutbul was diagnosed with a brain tumor that ultimately led to his death on October 11 at the age of 51.
