Biography
Illi is an electro-pop duo from Marseille, made up of Claire on vocals and Adam, who combines melodic rap and vocals. Their name, with its graphic symmetry, reflects the balance between their two artistic and human identities. Inspired by Fairouz, Donny Hathaway, Sade, Frank Ocean and Drake, they build a contrasting universe blending melancholy and light. Their music moves between French and Arabic lyrics, electronic strings, soul influences and Mediterranean echoes. The duo made their recording debut in 2020 with the Escale EP and the single "Salam", before unveiling the Mundo EP in 2022. In 2023, they followed this up with "Hiro", "Lyk", the Meribel EP, "Trendy" and "Pas le mektoub". In 2024, they released their debut album 43 nuits, preceded by the singles "Entre les lignes" and "Soldat de plomb", confirming their singular aesthetic, at the crossroads of genres and languages.
