Biography

Battlecross was an American extreme metal band from Canton, Michigan, founded in 2003 by Tony Asta and Hiran Deraniyagala. The band's lineup evolved over time, with vocalist Marshall Wood joining in 2006 and drummer Mike Kreger in 2007. In 2010, bassist Don Slater and singer Kyle "Gumby" Gunther joined after Marshall Wood left for family reasons. Battlecross released their debut album, Push Pull Destroy, independently in 2010. The band caught the attention of Metal Blade Records, leading to a re-recording of the album with Gunther on vocals. The revised album, titled Pursuit of Honor, was released in 2011 and featured the singles "Push Pull Destroy", "Man of Stone", and "Breaking Your". These tracks spent a combined total of 50 weeks on SiriusXM Liquid Metal's Devil's Dozen list. In early 2013, Battlecross announced their album, War of Will, which was released that summer.
