Barzin Hosseini, known professionally as Barzin, is a Canadian singer-songwriter. Initially a solo endeavor, Barzin's project began in 1995 and evolved into a collaborative effort with musicians Mike Findlay, Suzanne Hancock, and Tony Dekker of Great Lake Swimmers. In 2003, Barzin released his self-titled debut album Barzin through Where Are My Records. The following year saw the release of the EP Songs for Hinah via Hinah and Monotreme Records. His third album, Notes to an Absent Lover, was released in 2009 and received critical acclaim for its ambient textures. In 2013, Barzin released his fourth album, To Live Alone in That Long Summer, which garnered favorable reviews from publications such as Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Throughout his career, Barzin's music has been compared to that of Low, Red House Painters, and Sparklehorse.
