Barbara Boitumelo Aersoe, known professionally as Barbara Moleko, was born in 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is a Danish singer and songwriter with South African roots through her father. Moleko spent her early years in Mozambique before moving to Denmark at the age of 12 following her parents' divorce. Her musical career began to take shape when she appeared on the talent show KarriereKanonen on DR P3 radio station in 2010. In March 2012, Moleko released her debut single "Gå en tur" and followed it with the EP Enchantments, collaborating with the band XOB. Later that year, she contributed backing vocals to rapper LOC's hit "Helt min egen" and was featured in the Danish Christmas hit "Jeg brækker mig" by Sara og David. On September 17, 2012, Moleko released her debut studio album Lykken er....
