Band ohne Namen was founded in Berlin in 1995. The German pop band was originally formed under the name Die Allianz by the musicians Claus Capek, born on November 22, 1976 in Berlin, and Guy Gross, born on January 7, 1977 in Berlin. The band is later joined live by Frank Jauernick (guitar), Jan "Stix" Pfennig (drums), Torsten Punkt (keyboards), Sebastian Bertram (keyboards) and Alice Leschik (backing vocals). The band works with producer Annette Humpe and focuses its style on catchy pop that combines German lyrics with English choruses. In 1999, the group is officially called Band ohne Namen. The breakthrough came with the single "Boys" (1999), which achieved chart success in several European countries. In 2000, the band released the debut album No. 1 (2000) and in the same year B.O.N. in the USA (2000), an English-language version of the album. "Take My Heart" (2000) is also taken from the debut album and reaches gold status in Germany. In 2002, the third studio album See My Life (2002) is released with singles such as "Girl 4 a Day" (2002). The band breaks up in 2003. In the mid-1990s, Band ohne Namen received several jury-awarded prizes for young talent such as the EVP Band Award (1997), the Rio Reiser Prize (1997) and the Brandenburg Rock Competition (1997).
