Thunderbugs was a British girl group formed in 1999, consisting of Jane Vaughan on vocals, Stef Maillard on bass and backing vocals, Nicky Shaw on drums and backing vocals, and Brigitta Jansen on guitar. Unlike many other girl bands of the time, each member played their own instrument. Their debut single "Friends Forever" reached Number five on the UK Singles Chart in September 1999, marking a significant breakthrough for the group. However, their follow-up single "It's About Time You Were Mine" failed to reach the Top 40, peaking at Number 43. This lack of success led to the cancellation of their debut album Delicious, which was eventually released in 2000 exclusively on Minidisc in the UK and CD in Europe. The album featured covers of songs like "Does Your Heart Still Break" by Simon Climie, "Angel of the Morning" by Evie Sands, "Jealous" by Divinyls, and "Delicious" by Semisonic. Despite their brief career, Thunderbugs left a notable mark with their unique musical approach and chart success before disbanding at the end of 1999.
