Biography

Banchee was a psychedelic rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 1969. The group consisted of Peter Alongi on vocals and guitar, Victor DiGilio on drums, Jose “Joey” Miguel deJesus on vocals and guitar, and Michael Marino on vocals and bass. Banchee signed with Atlantic Records and released their self-titled debut album Banchee in 1969, which was produced by Warren Schatz and Stephen Schlaks, and included the single "Train of Life"/"I Just Don’t Know". In 1971, after switching to Polydor Records, Banchee released their second album Thinkin', with Fernando Luis “Papo” Roman joining as a singer and percussionist. Michael Jeffery served as the executive producer, while Dave Palmer and Ralph Moss were co-producers. The band disbanded in 1971. In 2001, both albums were reissued together in a compilation by Lizard Records.
