Biography

Award-winning Indian composer B. Ajaneesh Loknath (born 20 November 1985 in Bhadravati, Karnataka) has made a name for himself primarily in the Kannada film industry, although his discography stretches out across multiple languages. Kicking off his career in 2009 with Shishira, he has forged fruitful creative partnerships with Rakshit Shetty, Rishab Shetty, and Anup Bhandari, and in 2015 received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Music Director for his work on the 2014 neo-noir film Ulidavaru Kandante, which was also nominated eight times at the Radio Mirchi Music Awards South 2015. His background score for the mystery thriller RangiTaranga was named Best Background Score at the annual South Indian film industry love-in, IIFA Utsavam, while at the South Indian International Movie Awards in 2017 he won the Best Music Director award for the Kannada-language romantic comedy Krik Party. He also made his Tamil debut that year with the crime thriller Kurangu Bommai, written and directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, while in 2018 he made his Telugu debut with the remake of Krik Party, Kirrak Party. In the 2020s so far he has worked predominantly on Kannada movies, including 2022 wildlife film Gandhada Gudi starring Puneet Rajkumar and Spooky College.
