Biography

Tristan Shone, known as Author & Punisher, was born on October 18, 1977, in New Hampshire. A mechanical engineer and artist by training, Shone formed the one-man band Author & Punisher in January 2004. Inspired to build his own instruments due to the limitations of conventional ones and the difficulty in finding band members, Shone created custom-designed "Drone Machines" and "Dub Machines" using raw materials and open-source electronic circuitry. Author & Punisher released their debut album Melk En Honing on June 29, 2015. The following year, Shone signed with Phil Anselmo's Housecore Records for the release of Pressure Mine. On October 5, 2018, Author & Punisher released Beastland, February 11, 2022, KrÃ¼ller was released, and Nocturnal Birding on October 1, 2025, all through Relapse Records.
