Biography
Arve Tellefsen, born on December 14, 1936, in Norway, is a Norwegian violinist who began playing the violin at the age of six at 'Trondheims musikkskole' in Trondheim. In 1955, he commenced his studies at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and made his debut performance in 1959 at Universitetets Aula, Oslo. Tellefsen's career included collaborations with notable conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Herbert Blomstedt, and Zubin Mehta, and performances with orchestras like the Royal Philharmonic and the London Philharmonic. He founded the Oslo Chamber Music Festival in 1989, which attracted international artists annually. Throughout his career, Tellefsen released numerous albums, including Air Norvegen (1964), Du Milde Mosart! (1977), and Arve Tellefsen Plays Ole Bull (2010). He received several awards, such as the Harriet Cohen International Music Award in 1962 and the Spellemannprisen in 1980 for his album Serenade.
