Biography
Arlen Roth, born on October 30, 1952, in the Bronx, New York City, is an American guitarist. Encouraged by his father Al Ross, a cartoonist for The New Yorker, Roth began his musical journey at a young age. He attended the High School of Music and Art and later studied at the Philadelphia College of Art. His band Steel played at the first Woodstock Reunion concert in 1970, marking his breakthrough moment. In the following years, he backed up various artists including Happy and Artie Traum, Eric Andersen, and John Prine. He released his debut album Arlen Roth/Guitarist in 1978. Throughout his career, Roth collaborated with notable musicians such as Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, and the Bee Gees. His work includes albums like Hot Pickups and Toolin' Around.
