Antigoniâ¯Buxton, professionally known as Antigoni, was born on 9â¯Marchâ¯1996 in London, United Kingdom, and is a British singerâsongwriter of Greek Cypriot heritage who grew up listening to British pop and Greekâlanguage music. She began performing in local arts classes and independently released her first singles, "2 Steps" and "Boosting", in 2019 before issuing her debut selfâreleased EP A1 on 19â¯Aprilâ¯2020, which blended contemporary pop with Mediterranean influences. During the COVIDâ19 pandemic she continued to release singles such as "Way Too Much" featuring Ebenezer and "Friends", and "Never Gonna Love" entered the UK Singles Downloads Chart. In 2022 Antigoni appeared on the eighth series of Love Island, a realityâTV appearance that boosted her public profile and streaming numbers; subsequently she released "Red Flag", "Hit List", "You Can Have Him" and "Long Way Home". Her second EP, Hexagon, was released on 15â¯Septemberâ¯2023 and incorporated danceâpop and electronic elements. In Novemberâ¯2025 the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation announced that Antigoni would represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contestâ¯2026 with "Jalla", which she released on 8â¯Februaryâ¯2026. The entry combined English with Greek and Middle Easternâinspired production. She qualified from the second semiâfinal in Vienna and finished nineteenth in the grand final with 75 points, marking a milestone for her international music career.
