Anja Lauvdal, born in 1987 in Flekkefjord, Norway, is a Norwegian jazz pianist. She studied jazz at the Music Conservatory (Institute for Music, Norwegian University of Science and Technology) in Trondheim during the 2000s. During her studies, she formed the trio Moskus with Fredrik Luhr Dietrichson and Hans Hulbækmo, releasing their debut album Salmesykkel in 2012. Lauvdal also played with indie-rock groups Your Headlights Are On and Snøskred, and collaborated on albums such as Yoga with Broen, Triangle with Susanna Wallumrød, and Patience with Sondre Lerche. In 2022, she released her experimental ambient debut album From a Story Now Lost, followed by Farewell to Faraway Friends Vol 1 & 2 in 2023. Her work has been recognized with the Grappas Debutant Prize in 2011 and the Sparebank 1 Jazz Scholarship in 2015.
