Andrew York, born in 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia, is an American classical guitarist and composer. He studied at James Madison University and the University of Southern California (USC), and trained in Spain, where he met John Williams. His debut solo album, Perfect Sky, was released in 1986. York was a member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet until 2006, with whom he won a Grammy Award for Guitar Heroes (2004). He has collaborated with artists such as Andy Summers and W.A. Mathieu, and has over 50 published works for guitar. His solo albums include Dénouement (1994), Yamour (2012), and the EP Home (2018). He became a voting member at the Recording Academy in 2018.
