Biography

Anastasia Kobekina, born on August 26, 1994 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, is a Russian cellist and daughter of composer Vladimir Kobekin. She began her musical journey at age four and was admitted to the Moscow Conservatory in 2006 under Olga Galochkina's tutelage. Her breakthrough came with the first prize win at the Tonali Music Competition in 2015, where she performed with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. Kobekina studied at the Kronberg Academy from 2012 to 2015 under Frans Helmerson, supported by the Steigenberger/Rath Scholarship. Notable releases include Kobekin (2018) and Venice (2024). Kobekina has also collaborated with notable artists such as Lars Vogt, Guy Braunstein, and Isabelle Faust. She won the third prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019 and received the Leonard Bernstein Award in 2024.
