Biography

Amy Speace is an American singer-songwriter and essayist known for her work in folk and Americana music. Before her music career, she was a Shakespearean actress. Her debut album, Fable, was released in 2002, followed by Songs for Bright Street (2005), The Killer in Me (2009), and Land Like a Bird (2011). Speace’s song “Weight of the World” was recorded by Judy Collins on her 2010 album Paradise. She has toured extensively in the U.S., U.K., and Europe, performing at festivals such as Glastonbury and Cambridge Folk Festival, as well as The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival and Kerrville Folk Festival. In 2020, she won “International Song of the Year” from the Americana Music Association for the title track of her album Me And The Ghost Of Charlemagne (2019).
