Kevin Roth, born December 1, 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, artist, and mountain dulcimer player. He began performing locally in the 1970s. His breakthrough came with the 1975 album Kevin Roth Sings and Plays Dulcimer, followed by Somebody Give Me Direction (1976) and The Mountain Dulcimer Instrumental Album (1977). Over the next decade, he issued albums such as New Wind (1980), Women (1981), Dulcimer Man (1982), and Voyages (1986). He also collaborated with Janet Jackson Beily on the album Mozart & Me (2002). He performed the theme song for the PBS childrenâs television series Shining Time Station, which aired from January 29, 1989 to June 11, 1993. His later albums include Dulcimer Dreamland (2023) and The Inside Job (2024).
