Biography

Amy Lynn Hartzler, whose stage name is Amy Lee, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who gained fame, had hit records and won Grammy Awards with guitarist Ben Moody and others as gothic-rock band Evanescence. The California-born, classically trained performer formed the group in 1999 and went on to a solo career in 2014. Her debut solo album, 'Aftermath', featuring cellist and composer Dave Eggar, included songs she wrote for the 2014 feature film 'War Story', directed by Mark Jackson and starring Catherine Keener and Ben Kingsley. It went to number six on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums Chart, number nine on the Alternative Albums Chart and number 15 on the Top Rock Albums Chart in 2014. The EP 'Recover, Vol. 1' (2016) peaked at 37 on the Rock Albums Chart and she released the children's album 'Dream Too Much' in 2016. She rejoined Evanescence in 2017 for the album 'Synthesis' and a supporting tour across American in 2018.
