Amy Kohn, born June 5, 1972 in Chicago, is an American musician known for her work as a composer, lyricist, singer, pianist, and accordionist. She studied at Oberlin College and the New York University Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program, where she completed her master's thesis with the chamber opera 1 Plum Sq, which was produced and broadcast in 2005 on WNYC as part of its American Music Festival. In New York City, Kohn met producer Arif Mardin, who featured her as a singer and accordionist on his final album, alongside artists such as Norah Jones and Phil Collins. She co-produced her album, Iâm in Crinoline (2006), with Joe Mardin of NuNoise Records. Kohn has performed internationally at festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Woma Jazz in Italy.
