Biography

Amira Willighagen is a Dutch soprano who was born in 2004 in Nijmegen. She achieved a major breakthrough at age nine after winning the sixth season of the television competition Holland's Got Talent in 2013. Willighagen is a self-taught singer who learned opera arias using internet tutorials, and her performance of âO Mio Babbino Caroâ (2013) from the opera Gianni Schicchi garnered more than 150 million views. Her debut studio album, Amira, was released (2014) and reached gold status within two weeks. In 2014, she established the Gelukskinders Foundation to build playgrounds for children in South African townships. Willighagen moved to South Africa in 2018 and has since released the studio albums Merry Christmas (2015) and With All My Heart (2018). Her discography also includes the live recordings Classics Live (2020) and On My Own (2022). In 2025, she released the recording Two Worlds, One Amira.
