Biography
Amen Dunes, an American indie rock musical project, was formed in 2006 by Damon McMahon. The project initially started as a solo endeavor but evolved into a collaborative effort with various musicians, notably guitarist and keyboardist Jordi Wheeler and drummer Parker Kindred. Their debut album D.I.A. was released in 2009 under Locust Music. In subsequent years, Amen Dunes released several albums including Through Donkey Jaw (2011), Love (2014), and Freedom (2018). The latter, produced by Chris Coady at Electric Lady Studios in New York and Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, featured collaborations with Delicate Steve and Panoram. Their music has been well-received, with Freedom garnering positive reviews from outlets like Pitchfork. Their discography also includes the 2024 album Death Jokes.
