Biography
Alessi's Ark is the musical project of English singer-songwriter Alessi Laurent-Marke, born on June 30, 1990, in Hammersmith. She began playing drums at age 11 and left school at 16 to pursue music. She self-released the EP Bedroom Bound in 2007 through her label, Zooey. Laurent-Marke signed with Virgin Records and released her debut studio recording, Notes from the Treehouse, in May 2009. The recording was produced by Mike Mogis in Nebraska. Her discography included the studio albums Time Travel (2011), The Still Life (2013), and Love Is the Currency (2017). She appeared as a vocalist on recordings by Young Colossus and Laura Marling. In January 2021, Laurent-Marke joined the ensemble The Walking Trees and released the track âSouthside aLiveâ. Her studio recording Anchory appeared in 2024.
