Airlock is a Belgian trip hop group formed in November 1997 in Brussels. The ensemble consists of Pierre Mussche, Ernst W. Meinrath, and Renaud Charlier, who were originally known as musicom, alongside singer Esra Tasasiz. Before their first album, they contributed music to films such as Keo and Parabellum. Their music gained prominence through its inclusion in television series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Airlock released their debut studio album, Drystar (2001), through One Little Indian Records. They followed this with the single âFace Downâ (2001) and the track âDramaticâ (2001). During the recording of their second album, Symptomatic (2004), a studio fire destroyed their initial work and forced them to restart. They subsequently composed the soundtracks for the documentary The Long Journey Home (2005) and the film The Room (2006). Meinrath left them after this period. They later recruited Liesje Sadonius as their lead singer to work on new material.
