Adolfo Celdrán Mallol is a Spanish singer-songwriter, musician, and author born in 1943 in Alicante. While studying in Madrid, Celdrán co-founded the collective âCanción del Puebloâ. In 1969, Celdrán released Cajitas, which included the song âGeneralâ based on poems by Bertolt Brecht. Celdrán released the studio album Silencio in 1970, which was the first long-play recorded in Spanish within the Nueva Canción movement. He wrote the play La virgen roja in 1974. The 1975 album 4.444 veces, por ejemplo included the song âAntes del odioâ, based on a poem by Miguel Hernández. Celdrán subsequently released the albums Al borde del principio (1976) and Denegado (1977). In 1976, he published the book Todas las caras de la ausencia. Following a period of recording inactivity, Celdrán released the album Jarmizaer, Jarmizaer in 2001, which featured collaborations with Gaspar Payá and Germán Torregrosa.
