Biography

Adam Wakeman, born Adam Wakeman on 11 March 1974 in Windsor, England, is an English keyboardist and guitarist who began classical piano lessons at eight and earned an ABRSM Grade 8 by seventeen. His first recordings appeared with his father Rick Wakeman, and he gained early visibility touring with the Strawbs in 2000–2001. In 1993 he released Soliloquy, followed by 100 Years Overtime (1994) and Real World Trilogy (1997). He launched the progressive band Headspace in 2006, releasing the EP I am… (2007) and the concept album I Am Anonymous (2012). Wakeman collaborated extensively, contributing to Ozzy Osbourne’s Scream (2010) and performing with Deep Purple in 2023. In 2020 he issued Jazz Sabbath as Milton Keanes, a jazz reinterpretation of Black Sabbath tracks, with Jazz Sabbath Vol. 2 reaching number 6 on the Billboard Jazz Chart in 2022. His career includes over 200 compositions for media libraries and regular tours with prominent acts such as Martin Barre and the Strawbs.
