Biography
A Plea for Purging, an American Christian metalcore band from Nashville, Tennessee, was formed in 2005 by Blake Martin and John Wand. The group initially performed under the name Silas before changing to A Plea for Purging. They released a self-titled EP in 2006 and later signed with Facedown Records. Their debut album was A Critique of Mind and Thought (2007), followed by Depravity (2009) and The Marriage of Heaven and Hell (2010). The band's final release, The Life & Death of A Plea for Purging (2011), charted at number 24 on the US Billboard Rock Albums chart. The band disbanded in 2012 after a final tour but reunited for one-time shows in 2017 and 2023.
