Biography

2002 is an American new-age band formed in 1992 in Texas, United States. The group consists of the multi-instrumentalists Randy Copus, Pamela Copus, and Sarah Copus. Their name features zeros representing the symbol for infinity. Their debut album, Wings (1992), was inspired by Greek mythology. They signed a multi-album deal with Real Music and released the recordings Savitri (1995) and Chrysalis (1997), the latter of which spent seven weeks on the Billboard charts. Their recordings often incorporate themes from mythology, such as Land of Forever (1998) and The Emerald Way (2006). Their discography includes the album This Moment Now (2003), which received the COVR Award for Best New Age Album in 2004. In 2003, the ensemble was recognized as a top new-age artist by Billboard. Subsequent recordings include the compilation The Sacred Well: The Best of 2002 (2002) and the album Hummingbird (2021). The group received a Lifetime Achievement Award from One World Music Radio in 2021.
