Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu, known professionally as Wanlov the Kubolor, was born on September 8, 1980 in Ghana. He is a Ghanaian-Romanian musician who grew up in an artistic household and began rapping during his high school years at Adisadel College. After moving to the United States for college, Owusu-Bonsu returned to Ghana and released his debut album Green Card in 2007. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Gyedu-Blay Ambolley and Reggie Rockstone. His subsequent albums include Brown Card: African Gypsy (2012) and Orange Card: Fruitopian Raps (2017). Owusu-Bonsu is also known for his activism, particularly in support of LGBT+ rights and against plastic waste in Ghana. He has been recognized with awards such as the 2006 WCS International Song Contest for "Human Being".
