Biography

Zach Brock, born on August 2, 1974 in Lexington, Kentucky, is an American violinist and composer. He began violin studies through the Suzuki method and graduated from Bryan Station High School in 1992. Brock attended Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, where he majored in Violin Performance under Dr. Myron Kartman. Brock's professional career started with the band Spazztet during his time at Northwestern. He later led Zach Brock and the Coffee Achievers, releasing several albums between 2003 and 2007. In 2008, he joined Matt Ulery’s Loom and Snarky Puppy, contributing to multiple albums with both groups. Brock left Snarky Puppy in 2011 but returned in 2016, participating in Grammy Award-winning albums, Culcha Vulcha (2016), Live at the Royal Albert Hall (2021), and Empire Central (2022). As a leader, his discography includes albums such as Almost Never Was (2012) and Serendipity (2015).
