Yuka Masaki (çå´ãã), born 4 March 1986 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, is a Japanese contemporary R&B and pop singer. After playing handball for the U-16 national junior team, she studied at a Tokyo music school where she cultivated an interest in African-American music, eventually turning to a professional singing career. In 2009, Yuka Masaki signed her first contract with Universal Music Japan, and on 16 February 2011 she released her debut single âLast Kissâfeaturing KG. She followed with the single âNegaiâ in 2012, and later that year released âSweet Painâ with Shion as a separate single. Her full-length album Love Space was issued on 21 September 2011. Yuka Masakiâs releases charted modestly in Japan, and her collaboration with KG marked a notable entry into the R&B scene. The artist continued to perform in Tokyo clubs and concert halls, maintaining a steady presence in the Japanese music market.
