Biography

Youngstown, an American boy band from Youngstown, Ohio, was formed in 1998 and consisted of David "DC" Yeager, Samuel "Sammy" Lopez Jr., and James L. Dallas. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut single "I'll Be Your Everything", which served as the theme song for the Walt Disney Pictures film Inspector Gadget. The single peaked at number 71 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was featured on both the film soundtrack and their debut album, Let's Roll, released in September 1999 through Hollywood Records. In February 2000, Disney Channel aired Steps and Youngstown In Concert, a special concert featuring Youngstown and another group, Steps. Their second album, Down For The Get Down, was released in August 2001 and included the hit single "Sugar", which reached number 21 on the Hot Singles Sales US chart. Youngstown's music also appeared on various soundtracks, including The Famous Jett Jackson with the song "It's Not What You Think" (1999) and Summer Catch with the song "Anything and Everything" (2001). Additionally, their cover of "Away With The Summer Days" was featured on the first Princess Diaries soundtrack. Other notable releases include the mini-CD Pedal To The Steel, featuring Kel Mitchell, released in November 2000. In 2005, Youngstown disbanded after a successful run that included several albums and notable appearances.
