Yolanda del Río, born Yolanda Jaén López on May 27, 1955, in Pachuca, Hidalgo, is a celebrated Mexican ranchera singer and actress who rose to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s. Inspired by iconic ranchera figures like Lola Beltrán and Lucha Villa, Yolanda began her journey at an early age, winning competitions and performing on television before catching the attention of RCA Victor. At just 15, she released her first single, "La Hija de Nadie," which became a monumental success, selling over a million copies in six months and establishing her as a star. Over her career, she released numerous hits, including "Se Me Olvidó Otra Vez," "Tus Maletas en la Puerta," and "Traicionera Mala Amiga," blending heartfelt emotion with her signature melancholic style. Venturing into acting, Yolanda del Río starred in 11 films, including La Hija de Nadie (1976), the highest-grossing movie of the year, and its sequel, El Perdón de la Hija de Nadie. She expanded her reach internationally, recording in Portuguese and performing across the Americas and Europe.
