Biography

Yael Naïm is a folk singer-songwriter who was born in France but grew up in Israel where she was later a soloist with the orchestra of the Israeli Air Force. She released solo album 'In a Man's Womb' in 2001 and then began a collaboration with drummer David Bonatien that culminated in the release 'Yael Naïm & David Donatien' which went to number 20 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart in 2008 and number 50 on the Billboard 200. The single 'New Soul' topped the France Digital Song Sales Chart, reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100 and went to number 16 on Billboard's Adult Top 40 Chart. Its success was largely due to exposure gained in Apple's marketing campaign for its MacBook Air laptop. Her other albums include 'She Was a Boy' (2010), 'Yael Naïm' (2013) and 'Older' (2015). Following the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, she and fellow French singers Camelia Jordana and Nolwenn Leroy performed Jacques Brel's 'Quand On N'e Que l'Amour' in a memorial telecast around the world. Her 2018 schedule included performances at venues in Fontainebleau, Lyon, Paris and Lieusaint.
