Biography

Xylina Spathia, a Greek rock band from Thessaloniki, was active between 1993 and 2003. The group's original lineup included Pavlos Pavlidis on vocals and guitar, Vasilis Gountaroulis on keyboards and samplers, Christos Tsaprazis on bass, and Panos Tolios on drums and percussion. Their debut album, Xessaloniki, was released in 1993 by Ano Kato Records and featured hits like "O vasilias tis skonis" and "Adrenalini". The band's second album, Pera apo tis poleis tis asfaltou (1995), included the commercial success "Liomeno pagoto", which helped the album go gold in 1996. Their third album, Mia matia san vrohi (1997), showcased their experimental electronic sound with hits like "Robot" and "Vrohopoios". Xylina Spathia continued to tour extensively across Greece and Cyprus, gaining a wide audience. The band disbanded in 2003, with its members pursuing their own musical projects.
