Biography

Alexander Serge de Buisonjé, known professionally as Xander de Buisonjé, is a Dutch pop singer born on July 19, 1973, in Voorburg. He performed with the Maastricht-based band Volumia! until its final appearance on April 18, 2002. The ensemble recorded the song “Afscheid”, which reached number 4 on the Dutch Top 40 charts. Buisonjé released his debut solo studio album, Hemelsbreed, in 2003. In 2004, he participated in a tribute concert for André Hazes and released the live recording Live en akoestisch. He moderated the television program De vrienden van Amstel LIVE in 2010. In 2012, he released the live album Xander in Concert, which became his first Number 1 recording on the Dutch charts. The album featured the song “De wereld redden”, a Dutch interpretation of Tim Bendzko’s “Nur noch kurz die Welt retten”.
