Biography

Kim Eun‑young, also known as Woong San, born on April 18, 1973, in North Gyeongsang, South Korea, was a musician. After a year‑and‑a‑half at a Buddhist temple, she left a college rock band, embraced jazz inspired by Billie Holiday, and released her debut album in 1996. She debuted in Japan in 1998, performed over 500 shows, and became the first Korean‑born artist to play New York City’s Blue Note Jazz Club. Her discography included The Blues (2005) and Close Your Eyes (2010). She worked with Benny  Green, Lonnie Plaxico, and Suzuki Hisatsugu; her songs appeared on film soundtracks like "The Slave Hunters" (2010). She also released the album, 사랑 그 그리움 (Love, Its Longing) Vol.2, in 2022.
